Privacy Policy

Reveal provides litigation support services and software solely for the purpose of electronic discovery.

Reveal's role in data protection and privacy is generally limited by its position as a litigation support provider. Reveal currently receives information and data for the purpose of litigation discovery. The methods used encompass computer forensic, electronic data discovery, physical collection of paper and electronic documents and any other type of media collection requests for conversion, processing and/or review.

General Security Policy

Your privacy is our top concern. We work hard to earn and keep your trust, so we adhere to the following principles to protect your privacy:

  • We will only collect the minimum personal information required to successfully complete the Reveal transactions
  • We will never rent or sell the personally identifiable information of any user of our system (e.g., recruiter, candidate, reference, etc.) to third parties for marketing purposes
  • Any sensitive information that you provide will be secured with all industry standard protocols and technology

Notice of all changes that materially affect ways in which your personally identifiable data may be used or shared will be posted in updates to our Privacy Policy. If you continue to use Reveal services after notice of changes have been sent to you or published on our site, you hereby provide your consent to the changed practices.

Information Collection

Reveal does not collect personally identifying information from visitors to this site unless specifically provided by our customers. Personally identifiable information includes name, email address and other data elements that may reveal information about the customer.

Reveal also collects IP addresses for system administration and record keeping. Your IP address is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the World Wide Web. Our servers record incoming IP addresses. The IP addresses are analyzed only for the purposes of fraud detection, service performance and for restricting access. Reveal also uses "cookies" - files written to the visitor's computer that are used by some sites for record-keeping or to remember certain information about visitors during their visit only.

It is possible that we may need to disclose personal information when required by law. We will disclose such information wherein we have a good-faith belief that it is necessary to comply with a court order, ongoing judicial proceeding, or other legal process served on our company or to exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.

Information Use

Reveal does not provide or sell any of this information to third parties and will not use your personally identifiable information except to:

  • Support products and services provided by Reveal
  • Perform statistical analyses of user behavior and characteristics
  • Measure traffic and traffic trends at this site

Client Data Hosting

We provide secure web sites on behalf of clients. Information we receive belongs to the respective client who engaged us and is hosted in accordance with our agreement with that client. Decisions regarding what data get hosted and who is allowed to access it are made by the client. This includes any personal information entered by users on the site, documents, and document metadata.

Website Security

Special attention is appropriately given to website security and the overall security of all data storage, processing, and transmission systems. This website, and its use as a data conduit, is protected by:

  • Authentication through firewalls with full exclusion logic
  • Use of encryption when transferring secure information through Secure Socket Layer (SSL)
  • Password protection and user identification, including access logs, transaction logs, and traffic logs
  • Virtual private network security for development and internal access
  • Security management software

Third Party Data

We may grant access on a need to know basis to client data to our employees or contractors who require access to the data in order to deliver services requested by a client. All such employees and/or contractors are bound by confidentiality agreements.

U.S. - EU Safe Harbor Privacy Statement

Reveal complies with the European Union Safe Harbor Principles regarding the collection and use of personal information obtained from clients in the European Union, per the US Department of Commerce Safe Harbor Framework. The Safe Harbor Framework became effective on November 1, 2000, and meets the requirements of the European Union Directive on Data Protection to provide "adequate" privacy protection.

In compliance with the Safe Harbor Principles, Reveal commits to resolve complaints about your privacy and our collection or use of your personal information. European Union citizens with inquiries or complaints regarding this privacy policy should first contact:

Reveal has further committed to refer unresolved privacy complaints under the Safe Harbor Principles to an independent dispute resolution mechanism, the BBB EU Safe Harbor, operated by the Council of Better Business Bureaus.

When the complaint involves HR data, Reveal also agrees to cooperate with data protection authorities located in the European Union (or their authorized representative) and to participate in dispute resolution procedures of those authorities, pursuant to the Safe Harbor Privacy Framework.
